The oldest Japanese doctor is named Shigeaki Hinohara. He is 103 and believes that his lifestyle rules are the reason for his longevity. Even though he is that old, he looks a lot younger, while his body weight which is 60 kg has not changed for many years. Food is the key for his healthy and long life. These are his principles:
- Food is the most important – his breakfast consists of a fruit juice in a combination with a tablespoon of olive oil or a glass of milk with powdered lentil and a banana. Olive oil is great for the arteries and the skin. His lunch consists of a small amount of milk in combination with biscuits. If he is very busy he doesn’t eat anything. While his dinner consists of fruit, a bit of fish with rice and 90 grams of fat meat 2 times a week.
- Energy – Hinohara claims that the energy comes to people when they feel good, nd not when they sleep or eat too much. He explains this through small children as when they are very excited, they forget about sleep and food. Thus if adults are dedicated to their job and work with love, and that all makes them happy, they won’t need any strict dieting rules and sleeping hours.
- Live fast and have positive thoughts about the future – people are kept active in life when they live fast and with many responsibilities. People shouldn’t retire early, especially before 65 years of age.
