Phone scams aren’t a new trick. They’ve been around for quite some time. And just when we uncover the latest scam, a new one arises, making it increasingly difficult to warn people. Staying on top of fraud scams can help you protect yourself from becoming a victim.

Here’s how the latest phone scam works:

You answer your phone to hear a stranger on the other end ask “Can you hear me?” If you hear this phrase, it’s important that you hang up immediately. The call is coming from a scammer who is trying to get a recording of your voice. As soon as you say “yes,” the scammer has that recording. He can use the recording of your voice saying “yes” to make purchases or other financial transactions in your name.
When you’re engaging in financial transactions, banking or shopping over the phone, saying “yes” often represents signing a verbal contract. Once the scammer has your voice recording, he or she can use it to confirm account changes, transfer money or make purchases in your name. Pretty scary right?

Here’s How To Avoid A Phone Scam:

  • Don’t answer phone calls from numbers you don’t recognize. If you answer the phone when an unfamiliar number is calling, this lets criminals know that your number is valid. This can leave you open to more scammers in the future.
  • If you do decide to answer the phone when an unknown number is calling, be cautious, especially if the caller is asking questions that prompt a “yes” answer from you. These might include “Can you hear me?” or “Are you the homeowner?” Instead of answering yes, try asking “Who are you and why do you want to know?”
  • Try changing the settings on your phone to automatically send unknown numbers to voicemail. Scammers very rarely leave voice messages! If you have no message, you won’t have any reason to call them back.
  • Don’t give your personal information to strangers, even if someone calls claiming to work for your bank or your car insurance company. If you weren’t expecting the call, don’t hand out your information. If there’s a problem, meet them at your bank or insurance company for a face-to-face conversation instead.
  • Don’t feel bad about hanging up on a stranger. You can never be too careful! Hanging up can help save you from becoming a victim of a scam.

We all know the difference between good vibes and bad vibes, but what is really happening at a scientific level when we talk about “vibes”?  Or what about when we know someone is a bad person and can feel it in our gut, only to later find out that they are abusive and manipulative?
While there is an energetic and spiritual side to this question, there is also a hard scientific explanation of what is occurring when we tap into the vibes of other people.   With the development of new scientific instruments, intuition is now something being studied using the scientific method.

The electromagnetic field of the heart

The heart generates a powerful and measurable electromagnetic field.  Magnetocardiography is the science of measure the field that is produced by the electrical activity within the heart.
It’s mainstream scientific knowledge that the resonant frequencies of the field of your heart interacts with the fields of others around you.  This effect is super strong within the first several feet in particular, but has been reported to be measured even at a distance of hundreds of meters.
Most of us know that the heart holds an energy system of its own and is one of the 7 main chakras within our energy field, and that our heart centers can interact with the heart centers of others.  But it turns that it’s more than just an energy center for emotions, spiritual health, or even nervous system activity.  The heart almost acts as a second mind with its own sense of awareness.

In this study, 26 participants were shown a series of 45 pictures.  30 of the pictures were neutral, and 15 of them were emotionally arousing.  The participants were hooked up to an electrocardiogram to measure cardiac accelerations and decelerations, and an electroencephalogram to measure heart-beat evoked “potentials” on the surface on the skin.  What the found was incredible.
A significantly greater heart rate deceleration occurred prior to future emotional stimuli compared to calm stimuli, and there was a significant difference in the refraction period within cardiac cycles for the emotional versus the calm.  Both the heart and the brain were responding to the emotionally arousing photos prior to them even being seen by the person in linear time, but the heart was receiving the intuitive information prior to the brain.
The also found that there was a large difference in intuitive intelligence between males and females, and the females pick up on intuitive information more often and at a quicker rate than men did.  So the spiritual concept of females being more in touch with their intuitive and emotions is not just New Age philosophy. It’s now scientifically proven that intuition is real, the heart plays a more important role in intuitive information than the brain, and that females are more heart-centered.

Once the prestimulus information is received in the psychophysiologic systems, it appears to be processed in the same way as conventional sensory input. This study presents compelling evidence that the body’s perceptual apparatus is continuously scanning the future.

Getting a good night’s sleep is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Sleep is also consistently and increasingly recognized as important to public health. Insufficient sleep can be linked to automobile accidents, industrial disasters, or other occupational hazards, which is why the importance of sleep always seems to be stressed.

According the United States’ leading public health organizations, sleep, or lack there of, is considered a public concern and epidemic. 1. Get on Social Media

Updating your status on Facebook, adding that picture to Instagram, or snapchatting your friends are all included. Smartphones and computer monitors stimulate the brain, which is the opposite of what you want to do when you’re getting ready to go to bed.
These devices produce blue light, which can interrupt the body’s sleep/wake cycle, or circadian rhythm. Leave your phone alone until morning.

2. Eat Sugary, Fatty, or Spicy Foods

The more sugar or fat we have in our bodies, the more energy our bodies need to burn in order to get rid of the excess calories. Eating these foods before we sleep just makes it harder to do so, and it forces our bodies to store the calories for later, producing fat. Spicy foods can cause acid reflux, which will only get worse while laying down.

3. Drink or Eat Caffeine

Caffeine is highly stimulating, as most of us know, and has the power to keep us awake much longer than we want. Caffeine is one of the most addictive substances out there, and it needs to be consumed in moderation.
Even decaffeinated coffee has traces of caffeine, although it’s a much smaller amount than a normal cup, it can still keep you awake.

4. Not Having a Bedtime Routine

Routines get our bodies used to a specific time. For instance, if you always do the same things before you go to bed in the same order, your body will already be aware that it’s time to go to sleep. You might even feel yourself getting tired while you’re brushing your teeth or reading a book. If you’re having trouble falling asleep, find a routine that works for you.

If you follow my weekly energy forecasts you have probably heard me say that we all have the 12 zodiac signs within us in some way.
This is not just on an emotional and spiritual level, but on a physical level as well. In fact, each body part or area of your body is also ruled by a particular zodiac energy.
In the early days of medicine, doctors used to study dreams and the planets in order to work out how best to treat a patient. While this technique is long gone, there is still some value in understanding how astrology can help to heal you.
In astrology, each zodiac sign governs a different part of the body. When this part of the body is facing illness, channelling the energy of that sign can help.

Body: Aries rules over the head, hair and face.

Healing: To balance Virgo energy, it is important to learn how to let go and release some of the expectations you are placing on yourself. It is also important to calm your mind and perhaps take the time to get to the bottom of any nagging thoughts. This is best done through meditation, creative projects or even exercise. Making peace with your body and ensuring that you are eating a lot of healthy fruits and vegetables can also be helpful.


Body: Libra energy rules over your kidneys, bladder and lower back area.
Energy: Libra energy is all about learning how to connect and grow with others and form healthy partnerships and relationships.
Imbalances: When Libra energy is out of balance it can manifest as being too independent or too co-dependent. It can also manifest as issues relating to the bladder such as infections, frequent urination or lower back pain.
Healing: To balance Libra energy, it is important to find ways how to compromise in your life and perhaps think about others. On the flip side, if you have been relying too much to others, it may be time to find your own independence and strength.

Energy: Scorpio energy is all about transformation and learning how to grow and change through life’s experiences. It is also about digging through your shadow side in order to bring it into the light.
Imbalances: When Scorpio energy is out of balance it can manifest as feeling stuck or perhaps even overwhelmed by too much change too quickly. It can also manifest as depression, STD’s, lack of libido or an overactive libido.
Healing: To balance Scorpio energy it is important to embrace change and be open to dealing with any shadows that emerge. To help with this, it may be beneficial to take up practices like meditation and tantra. Spending time near water can also help to recharge your batteries and emotionally release.


Body: Sagittarius energy rules over your hips and thighs. It also rules over the liver.
Energy: Sagittarius energy is all about learning, exploring and teaching. Sagittarius energy is always ready for adventure and craves to understand life and the world.
Imbalances: When Sagittarius energy is out of balance it can manifest as hip problems, liver issues or even the tendency to over-indulge. It can also manifest as restlessness or perhaps an inability to stay in one spot for a long period of time. Alternatively, it can also manifest as stagnancy and perhaps an unwillingness to learn, embrace other cultures or keep an open-mind.
Healing: One of the best ways to balance Sagittarius energy is to travel or learn something new that will help to open and expand your mind. Doing something different from your regular routine can also help to balance the energy as can exercises that help to open the hip area.


Body: Capricorn energy rules over your bones, knees and teeth.
Energy: Capricorn energy is all about getting things done in a practical and orderly fashion. Capricorn energy is extremely ambitious and is highly motivated to achieve and create.
Imbalances: When out of balance, Capricorn energy can lead to workaholic tendencies, issues with the knees, cavities or tooth pain. It can also lead to putting too much pressure on oneself to achieve and a habit of working or ‘doing things’ in order to avoid emotions.

Imbalances: When out of balance, Aquarius energy can cause you to feel like a “mad scientist”, it may also cause feelings of losing touch with reality. Ankle issues can also present, as well as feelings of anxiety or even panic attacks.
Healing: To balance Aquarius energy it is important to work on creating and bringing your ideas to life. Depression is something we all experience at some point in our life.  If you are reading this, chances are you are either depressed, were depressed, will be depressed, or you know someone who is.  It’s a part of the ebb and flow of life and evolution just as much as happiness is.  It’s kind of the elephant in the room for a lot of people, and I know that talking about depression is something a lot of people feel uncomfortable and sensitive about.
I’m not speaking about something that is currently outside of me that I am looking back on.  As someone who is currently experiencing depression in their life, I want to share some insights that have arisen to me to help others who are in a similar situation to me.
First off, don’t be ashamed that you are suffering, and don’t beat yourself up for not being able to get over your depression.  Honestly.  It’s not un-spiritual to admit to yourself that you are depressed or feel like giving up in life. It’s actually more spiritually mature to be completely honest with yourself and face your demons without running from them.  Let’s take a look at some things that can really shift your perspective during times of depression:
1) Your pain is just a process
Your pain and suffering is not permanent.  When you say “I am depressed”, you are asserting that depression is something that belongs to you and is a part of who and what you are.  Try saying “I feel depressed” instead of “I AM depressed”.
One recognizes your experience as a temporary feeling that has the ability to leave, the other ties you to the feeling through identification.  You are not ‘depressed’.  Catch yourself whenever you say that, and correct yourself until it becomes a habit to say “I feel” instead of “I am”.  You simply feel depressed, and all feelings come and go.
Your pain is here to serve you by showing you some aspect of yourself that needs improvement.  It’s an opportunity to live life from a place of higher consciousness.  It’s something that you are witnessing and something that is serving a purpose in your life in some way, and will continue to as long as it remains in your life.
I promise you that if you are reading this right now and are suffering from depression, there will be a time in your life where you look back with gratitude that you were blessed with the opportunity to experience depression.

2) Each moment is an opportunity to improve your situation

Every single present moment is a chance to improve your situation.  It’s also a chance to slip further into depression and unconsciousness.  There are only two possible outcomes that can arise out of this present moment:  You can either feel better and improve your situation, or you can feel worse and delay your healing process.
Each moment is a decision between working towards healing or staying where you are.  You can either take 10 deep breaths to slow down your mind and stabilize your nervous system, or you can allow your mind to drag you, your feelings, and your attention all over the place.
You can go deep in feel fully, or you can stay shallow and dwell on the surface.  You can either meditate, or watch Netflix all afternoon.  The choice is yours.
And if you are dealing with depression that is related to self-hate, it is a lot harder to hate yourself when deep down you know you are taking all of the steps you can to better yourself as a person each day.  What is this moment showing you about yourself and the nature of the human experience?  And what moment are you going to choose for yourself next?

3) You always deserve more love, not less

No matter what you did or didn’t do in your past, how many people you let down, how many times you have failed at creating the life you want, how many crimes you have committed, how long you have been stuck in depression, and how many people you have hurt around you, you always deserve more love, not less.  Right now, where you are, you deserve more love from yourself and from the people around you, not less.
Being open to receiving love from self, God, and others and being closed off to it is ultimately the difference between healing and remaining in a state of self-loathing.  You deserve to feel love and happiness.  It doesn’t matter how valid your mind feels it is in claiming that it doesn’t deserve to receive love, you are always worth due to the fact that you are a person who is trying.
And if you feel like you are not trying, then that is even more reason to be worthy of love because there must be some distortion preventing you from trying.  A huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when I heard someone tell me that I always deserved more love, not less, regardless of how I felt about myself or what I did.
When you are experiencing depression, it is helpful to get into the habit of misidentifying with your depression by stopping the association of the ‘I am” with “depressed”. Depressed is not who you are, it is just a form in your energy field at this time in your life.  Each moment you experience from hear on out is a chance to feel better about yourself and take steps towards your healing, and you always deserve to give yourself more love.

BEWARE: Top 5 Potentially Cancer-Causing Children’s Snacks Made From Petroleum-Based Products

Companies market food directly to children through T.V. and radio commercials, the internet, magazines, toys, clothing, and even through product placement in movies and video games. The total amount of money spent on marketing food to children in order to actively influence their food choices is about $10 billion a year. $10 billion to ensure that kids pick the extra-sugary cereal with the movie character on the box, or the fruit snacks full of artificial preservatives that are shaped like animals from the zoo. Marketing to children works and the fact is that the overwhelming majority of marketing directed at children is for foods with poor nutritional quality that are potentially dangerous to their health. We know that most of these products fall into the “junk food” category, but how exactly are the ingredients in these snacks affecting our health?

 Many of the popular snacks kids love contain artificial food coloring to make the food look more appealing to children – allowing them to “taste the rainbow” and have fun with their food. Yellow 5 (tartrazine) and Red 40 are just two of the commonly used food dyes made from petroleum, which is used to enhance products such as Fruit Loops, Jell-O, Kool-Aid, macaroni and cheese, popsicles, fruit roll-ups and Nutri-Grain cereal bars, just to name a few. These dyes have been linked to serious health problems, including cancerhyperactivity, and allergic reactions.

Yellow 5 and Red 40 are two out of six food colorings that are banned in the UK, but U.S. companies still use them freely in their products. So much so, it is estimated that manufacturers in the U.S. put about 15 million pounds of eight different synthetic dyes into our foods each year. While the U.S. Food and Drug Administration acknowledges that food dyes can impair the behavior of some children, it has done nothing to remove them from our food supply. The list of products containing these dyes is almost endless, but here are a few to watch out for:

Pop Tarts

The most popular flavor of Pop Tarts, Frosted Strawberry, includes ingredients such as corn syrup, dextrose, sugar and high fructose corn syrup, all of which have been linked to sugar addiction, diabetes and liver problems in children. These toaster pastries also include TBHQ, a petroleum-based product that causes cellular dysfunction. In laboratory animals, it’s been linked to tumors, loss of vision, liver enlargement, convulsions, and paralysis.

Fruit Snacks

The food color most often used in these “fruit” flavored snacks is Red 3 or erythrosine, a petroleum product which has been banned for use in cosmetics due to its connection with thyroid tumors. It is unsafe to use on your skin, but eating it is no problem? Avoid the gummy section!


These popular candies contain a lot more than chocolate, including Blue 1, which can trigger the development of malignant tumors, Blue 2, which can increase hyperactivity and has been linked to brain tumors, Red 40 which can damage DNA, and Yellow 5 and 6 which have been linked to cancer.



The artificial coloring in this snack is made from Yellow 6, which is derived from petroleum, as is the “cheese” flavoring, which includes methyl benzoate and ethyl methylphenidate.

These tiny bears are laced with TBHQ, which has also been shown to cause stomach cancer in lab rats, fragment DNA and cause damage to the human lung and umbilical cells. In children, it can cause anxiety, restlessness, and intensify the symptoms of ADHD.
