Each Human Keeps 13 Secrets, According to Psychologists

There are about 13,000 secrets that are usually kept by people from other people that they know.
Michael Slepian co – authored the study published in Journal of Personality and Social Pscyhology. The information that he contributed came from the study that he did in 2012.
According to his study, people who are keeping secrets from other people have the tendency to find various tasks as harder as compared to people who do not keep as much secrets.
Their level of perception has changed because of the secrets that they are keeping and this may be meant to stay this way until the secret is revealed.

WHAT ARE THESE SECRETS WE KEEP?

 In the study, there were a thousand participants who stated the secrets that they were keeping from other people. The researcher is in charge of reviewing what the secrets are about. All in all, there were 38 categories that were formed.
The categories are considered to be broad though. For example, stealing money from a company and shoplifting from a store are considered to be part of the category ‘theft.’

This Japanese Breathing Technique Will Help You Lose Stomach Fat Fast

Miki Ryosuke, a Japanese actor, recently  discovered a natural method that helped him lose weight. After experiencing back pain, Miki’s doctor recommended he perform a certain exercise each day to help relieve his pain. After performing the exercise for a few weeks, Miki lost 28.7 pounds and 4.7 inches from his waist! Miki refers to the technique as the long-breath diet. You stand in position, take a three-second breath, then exhale strongly for seven seconds.

Does The Long-Breath Technique Really Work?

Marcelle Pick, an OB/GYN NP explained her view on deep breathing to Medical Daily. “Though not a substitute for exercise, it’s a great first step for women just beginning an exercise plan, and deep breathing enhances the benefits of any form of exercise,” she said. Deep breathing exercises provides the body with oxygen. The oxygen absorbs nutrients and can help rid the body of toxins, which can lead to weight loss.
Research conducted at Hampton University found that the combination of yoga and deep breathing exercises helped overweight teens lose weight. Sixty high school teens were divided into two group. The first group received 40 minutes of yoga and performed deep breathing exercises four times a week for 12 weeks. The second group stayed with their normal routine. Researchers found that the group who did yoga and deep breathing lost an average body weight of 6 pounds with no daily caloric intake restrictions.

How To Perform The Exercise

  1. Stand with one leg forward and the other back
  2. Strain your glute muscles while transferring your weight to your back foot
  3. Slowly inhale for 3 seconds while lifting your arms above your head
  4. Exhale forcefully but carefully for 7 seconds, while straining all of your body’s muscles
Perform this exercise every day for 2-10 minutes. It will allow your body to use more oxygen to help you burn fat, and it will also strengthen your muscle and increase your metabolism!

If You Use Facebook Messenger, This Is How You Are Being Recorded Even When Not On The Phone

Since Facebook was launched for public use, numerous claims have made their way to the surface exposing the social network for abuse of privacy. Now, it has been reported that Facebook Messenger can record your audio anytime they want, and you don’t have to provide permission.
Times have changed, obviously, and while text messages were once the main form of communication, now most conversations are held by use of Facebook Messenger. As a matter of fact, Facebook has reported that an astounding 900 million people use their services for not only the common people but also for businesses as well.
However, I would be willing to bet that the majority of that 900 million don’t realize that they are being recorded. And while many are shaking their heads as they read this article in disbelief, it is worth mentioning that according to The Independent, Facebook doesn’t refute the fact that they are in fact listening to you.

On the contrary, according to Facebook, the app does listen to what is happening around you, but they feign innocent on their intentions. Their claim is that they are spying on you in order to find out your interests so that they can suggest what you should post. Because that makes their spying totally less creepy, right?
And if you don’t believe us, delete your Facebook Messenger app. Now reinstall it. Within a few moments, you should see a few different pop-ups, including these:facebook2
Now notice the terminology in the terms of agreement.
Kelli Burns, who works as a mass communication professor at the University of Florida states that while the feature wasn’t available initially when she tested it recently by discussing certain topics around her phone to see if Facebook then used the information to customize her advertisements. And then, within moments, the site began to update the advertisements based on what she had said around her phone.
Facebook insisted to the Independent that while audio is used to customize your posts based on what is happening around you, they don’t record you to customize advertisements to fit your interests. Once again, still not less creepy.
There is good news, though. If you take the time to go in and change your settings, you can prevent Facebook from recording anything, or at least hope that you are anyways. On iPhones go to your app settings, then go to privacy, and switch the slider setting for the microphone. Android users will need to go to settings, then privacy, and change the permissions that are granted for Facebook. Unfortunately, with convenience also comes a loss of privacy in our technologically advancing world. For now, we must weigh the pros and cons for such apps, and decide to either risk having our privacy invaded or lose the convenience factors that such outlets provide. What do you think? What Buddha Would Say About the Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction, promulgated in The Secret, has become immensely popular in recent years.
For those who don’t know what it’s about, it basically states that you can attract whatever you want in your life – perfect relationships, money, success etc -simply by focusing on it with positive intent and positive thinking.
But this type of thinking is nothing new.
It was the basis of the very successful self-help empires of Napoleon Hill, Vincent Peale, and Dale Carnegie.
But what would Buddha say about this? Is it an effective way to find fulfillment and happiness in life?
I’ve found an epic passage from Osho that answers what Buddha would of thought of the law of attraction. Prepare to be surprised!

Osho explains what Buddha would have thought

In this passage, spiritual guru Osho explains a story where someone asked Buddha why he doesn’t teach people to pray. The answer crystalizes what Buddha would of thought about the positive thinking movement and the law of attraction:
“Once Gautam Buddha was asked, ”Why don’t you teach your people to pray?” It was an obvious question – a religion without prayer is simply inconceivable to many people. And the answer Buddha gave is as fresh today as it was twenty-five centuries before, as new and as revolutionary. He said, “I don’t teach my people to pray because their prayers will harm them. Right now they are not conscious enough to ask for anything, and whatsoever they ask will be wrong. First, let them become conscious enough. I teach them how to become more conscious and then it is up to them.
“When they are fully conscious, if they want to pray, they are free. They are not my slaves. But I can say one thing: that anybody who is fully conscious has nothing to ask for. He has got everything that one can ever ask for.”

The law of attraction is denying our true nature

According to Osho, Buddha would have disliked the law of attraction because it’s leading us away from acceptance of ourselves. The only way we can become fully aware and conscious is by embracing all of who we are, even our dark sides:
“People try to pray, people try to smile, people try to look happy, people try to be truthful, honest – whatever qualities are praised. But their unconsciousness stands there behind every act of theirs, and their unconsciousness distorts their honesty, distorts their smiles, distorts their truth.
But no morality in the world teaches people to first be conscious and only then to find, by your own consciousness, what qualities you would like to blossom in your being…. Honesty, sincerity, truth, love, compassion?
Except for a very few rebels like Gautam Buddha, nobody has thought about your unconscious, that first it has to be dropped, changed, your inner being has to be full of light, and then whatever you do is going to be right. Out of a totally conscious mind nothing can go wrong. But who listens?”
In other words, It’s more fruitful to become aware of true reality and our whole being. This will undoubtedly involve aspects of negativity, but it’s important if we are to live a fulfilling and free life.
